Managing Director, Truck Replacement Sales, Europe at Goodyear

Marc has over 25 years’ experience in the transport industry, having worked in various roles covering Operations and Maintenance, before moving into Sales. After working for 16 years in GE’s transportation businesses, Marc joined Goodyear in 2009. He is now the Managing Director of Goodyear’s European Commercial Replacement Sales organisation.

Marc looks after Goodyear’s UK service business Truckforce, which covers Goodyear fleets on an exclusive basis. With a focus on managing the life cycle of a tire, Goodyear have fully adopted and Advanced Services mind-set which is evident in the new business model Proactive Solutions, a full mobility solutions package.


Managing Director - Trains and Modernisation at Alstom

Mike Hulme started his career at British Nuclear Fuels Sellafield, where he subsequently held various engineering and operational roles. He joined Alstom in October 2001 as Validation Manager and has held several senior positions in the company, including Engineering and Tender Director and Vice President. 


Since taking the reigns as Managing Director (Trains and Modernisation) in 2015, Mike has been responsible for the strategic approach of key transport solutions including rolling stock supply and associated maintenance services. He has played a pivotal role in the introduction of advanced services contracts to Alstom, such as the availability-based contract with Virgin on the West Coast Mainline. 


Professor of Operations Strategy and Executive Director at The Advanced Services Group, Aston Business School


Tim Baines is the Professor of Operations Strategy at the Aston Business School, Birmingham, and leads the Advanced Services Group (ASG). ASG is the world’s largest research centre focusing on Servitization and provides insights, decision frameworks and models enabling senior executives to understand, evaluate and adopt servitization. The knowledge base of ASG has been established over a twenty year journey of international studies, research council programmes and extensive work with businesses large and small.   

Tim has spent his whole career working for and with manufacturing businesses. His career began with a technician apprenticeship, and after graduating with an MSc and PhD from Cranfield University, he studied as a post-doc at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Auburn University in the USA. He has published over 250 articles including 70 refereed journal papers, and a further 15 books and chapters. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of both the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and the Institution of Engineers and Technologists, and has held a number of senior positions with universities.

Tim is hands-on with both global and local manufacturing companies, helping them to transform their businesses, and facilitating the understanding of servitization in practice. He has worked with a wide range of businesses including Rolls-Royce, Airbus, Ford Motor Company, Alstom, Goodyear and Boeing. Everything he does is focused on understanding and promoting servitization in research and practice.


Engineering Associate Fellow for Life Cycle Engineering at Rolls-Royce


Andrew Harrison is a professional aerospace engineer with more than three decades experience in both technical and managerial roles spanning the entire product life cycle of a jet engine from capability generation through to in-service support. 

Over the last 15 years, Andrew has led the creation and implementation of Rolls-Royce’s differentiating capability in the area of Design for Service, which targets increasing product reliability while reducing the cost of ownership. 

Andrew continues to lead the global Rolls-Royce Engineering for Service research agenda in the area of life cycle engineering. He is actively engaged with the leading UK academic institutions and is a founding and leading member of the UK National council for Through Life Engineering Services which provides strategy and direction for UK Industry, academia and Government in this area. 

Andrew is an Honorary Professor at Aston University Business School, a visiting fellow to Cranfield University, a fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and a chartered engineer.

Lee is heading up DLL’s expansion into Pay-Per-Use Solutions in Europe and Australasia.


Previous to this, Lee has over 20 years’ experience as legal counsel to Banks and Finance companies around the world, having been based in London, Shanghai, and his hometown of Auckland, New Zealand.


Lee is at the forefront of considering and solving for the evolutionary shift in asset finance towards usage based and advanced service solutions.

Will started his career as an R&D engineer within the domestic appliances sector but soon made the transition across to a commercial role through a GE leadership programme. He has spent over 20 years in sales and sales leadership roles.

As Director of Channels and a member of the Domino Executive management team, he is responsible for Domino’s sales and service channels including the specialist central development functions of global service, sales enablement, Customer Experience and marketing. 

Domino has been a member of the Advanced Services Partnership since May 2018, which is proving to be valuable support, as Domino seeks to create new services for customers and build this as a competitive advantage.

At Baxi Heating Oliver is responsible for gathering actionable insight for new digital products and services. Working with cross functional teams to then create compelling digital propositions that meet customer needs. As part of this role he is leading Baxi Heating’s Advanced Services work. This involves exploring opportunities regarding HaaS and other servitization models that will play an essential part of Baxi Heating’s future business models whilst also supporting the UK’s effort on decarbonisation.

Paul is founder and Managing Director of UV Light Technology Limited who manufacture ultra-violet light equipment for industrial, healthcare and food applications. 

At UV Light Technology, he created a new business model, wrapping services around UV products..With a strategy to optimise customer processes whilst minimising their risks, UV Light Technology provides services, from equipment selection through to supporting regulatory compliance and gaining operator confidence.

Paul is also the  chairman of the Advanced Services SME Transformation Roundtable.

Sarah’s expertise lies in helping organizations to make sense of industry hyperbole and emerging trends to determine how to strategically transform their businesses through more effective processes, more engaged people, and the latest technologies. She helps these organizations tell their stories of both trials and triumphs from which their peers can learn and commiserate. 

After more than a decade as the Editor In Chief of Field Technologies magazine and Field Technologies Online, Sarah joined IFS in 2018 to create Future of Field Service and launch the Future of Field Service podcast as well as serve as Director of Customer Advocacy for IFS. She speaks nearly every day to practitioners on the servitization journey, giving her an excellent insight into the prevailing conditions of the manufacturing and technology industries.

After gaining a business degree from The University of Leeds, Kate went on to work in a number of marketing and product management roles, with a focus on turning market intelligence into insight and action. She has worked in both the public and private sectors, developing and promoting products and services for business customers.


At Domino, her role is to manage the company’s Cloud services which provide remote monitoring and diagnostics on a range of industrial printing equipment. She is also carrying out customer research to define the organisation’s next generation of advanced services.

With 20 years of experience in software engineering and digital transformation, Stefano is keen and focused on the union of 3 domains: enterprise SaaS, IoT and servitization.

He spends much of his time and energy discussing with leading manufacturing companies how software can maximize the value of their servitization initiatives.

Lee is the CEO of  IT services companyTactile Techonoly. He started his career as a Flight Simulation Engineer in the Royal Air Force. He then moved into mainstream technology for vendors such as IBM and Sun Microsystems before starting his own business in 2004.

Having joined Terex Genie’s commercial team over 10 years ago his initial focus was on Strategic and Multinational Accounts, he rapidly identified the opportunity to drive business change not only within the Genie business but more crucially across the rental market. He holds a successful record of delivering sustainable results, managing multi-million dollar solutions and service business to commercial customers and has a track record demonstrating transformational leadership and strategic implementation.  

An Electrical Engineering graduate Matt has an in-depth knowledge of the industrial sector having held senior commercial and operational positions with well-known and market leading Utility, Oil and Gas, Infrastructure Support and Logistics businesses


Programme Manager at The Advanced Services Group

Danny was Head of Business Development at Nicklin Transit Packaging, the UK’s leading independent provider of bespoke transit packaging products and services. At Nicklin, Danny was responsible for the development and implementation of the company’s Servitization strategy. During this time, the award-winning manufacturer developed a product design, FEA simulation and product optimisation offering which was unique to the sector alongside remote asset monitoring capabilities.  

Following 25-year plus career working in SMEs operating in the services and manufacturing sectors, Danny joined The Advanced Services Group in January 2020 as Programme Manager for The SME Partnership in The Black Country.


Former Director of Services at Trane Technologies

Greg served as the director of services for Trane Commercial and Thermo King North America. Trane Commercial services is a $1B business with over 2000 field technicians and over 25,000 customers covering North America. During his tenure at Trane, Greg was responsible for leading the growth and portfolio of service offerings such as service agreements, R’newal, AdaptiView, Adaptive Frequency Drives, and Industrial Refrigeration. In addition, he led the operations and customer care organization consisting of 150 product and technical support engineers. He also led Trane University and won the Ingersoll Rand chairman’s award for operational excellence.

Greg was a responsible for developing the program to enable dealer service performance improvement, growing the service offer portfolio and commercializing a portfolio of refrigeration unit data-enabled capabilities that elevate dealer service levels for the overall Thermo King North American dealer network. 

He began his career as an electrical engineer in 1996 working for Hussmann. He served at Hussmann as a product manager, factory leader, and services leader for the southeast region responsible for transforming struggling sales branches to sustainable profitable growth operations before progressing to service operations leader for Trane in 2011.

With 25+ years of experience at Crown, he is responsible for leading the activities of Crown’s global customer support strategies, telematics support, current and future connected services, e-commerce and parts distribution, customer support, service experience, warranty, and thought leadership associated with delivering a world-class customer experience around the globe. For the last 5 years he has been spearheading the company’s technology driven IOT strategic journey and global connected services business. He has undergraduate degree in electrical engineering and a master’s degree in business administration.

David ran the UK’s largest Aftersales business for a Heating OEM and heads up their innovation programme. He has 15 years’ experience working in the manufacturing sector with various roles including R&D, operations, project management and commercial.


He iwas responsible for the spare parts and services business units at Baxi Heating UK as Commercial Director, and the UK innovation programme as Head of Innovation.


David championed the development of Baxi’s innovation programme off the back of an MBA focused on strategy and innovation, his doctorate research focus is now on business model innovation, specifically Servitization and the transformation to Advanced Services.

Currently VP Services for Land & Air Systems, a Thales global business unit, Chris leads the Customer Services activity that supports customers in over 150 countries with Customer Service teams on 5 continents. His primary mission is to help customers fully exploit the Thales products and services they operate but it is also to shape the way new products and services are developed in line with customer needs, emerging technologies and business innovation. Chris served in the Royal Air Force as a senior officer responsible for logistics and support, before joining Thales in 2001.

Over the 18 years she has been with Tetra Pak Maria has held various Corporate and Commercial roles, most recently Managing Director roles in East and South Eastern Europe.  Prior to Tetra Pak, Maria held roles as Senior Consultant in PwC, consulting to a number of industries including Packaging, Pharma and Aerospace, and various roles in Sales and Marketing in the Pharmaceutical industry.
