Genie wins Servitization Excellence Award 2026 for Servitization Growth

The Advanced Services Group is delighted to announce that Genie has received the Servitization Excellence Award 2026 for Servitization Growth, recognising how the company is using services to create greater value for customers and drive growth across the wider business.

Now in their second year, the Servitization Excellence Awards recognise outstanding achievements in servitization and service-led business transformation. The 2026 awards are being presented at the Advanced Services Partnership Autumn Roundtable in Umbertide, Italy.

Genie is being recognised for demonstrating how services can become a powerful driver of growth across the wider business. By creating greater value for customers through services, the company is strengthening the competitiveness of its core product offer and opening up new opportunities for growth.

A deeper understanding of its customers sits at the heart of Genie’s approach. The company looks beyond the product to understand customers’ costs, challenges and opportunities, then uses services to co-create greater value. This has made services an important source of differentiation, strengthening customer relationships and enabling significant commercial growth.

Genie is also bringing its service and customer-facing digital activities closer together, creating a stronger foundation from which to scale its ambitions. At the same time, it is developing capabilities in areas such as automation, AI and digitally enabled services that will support the next stage of its servitization journey.

For Matt Skipworth, VP Global Service & Digital Solutions at Genie, the award reflects both the progress made and Genie’s focus on creating greater value for its customers:

“At Genie, we believe the greatest opportunity to create value begins when we move beyond the machine and focus on the outcomes our customers are trying to achieve. This recognition reflects the progress we’ve made in combining deep customer understanding, world-class service expertise, and digital innovation to help customers improve uptime, increase productivity, and make smarter fleet decisions. By connecting services, data, and technology, we are creating a more proactive and seamless customer experience, allowing our customers to operate with greater confidence while unlocking sustainable growth for both their businesses and ours.”

Commenting on Genie’s achievement, Professor Andreas Schroeder of the Advanced Services Group said:

What distinguishes Genie is the systematic and methodical way in which it continually challenges and refines its understanding of customers and the changing market. By bringing service and digital capabilities together, clearly targeting customer value, Genie is creating strong synergies while reducing the risk of misaligned innovation. This will become increasingly important as technological change accelerates and continuous service innovation becomes essential for translating new technological opportunities rapidly into meaningful customer value.”

The award recognises an ambitious approach to servitization, with services increasingly central to how Genie creates customer value, differentiates its offer and drives future growth, both for the company and for its customers.

Reflecting on the importance of the awards, Professor Tim Baines, Executive Director of the Advanced Services Group, commented:

“It is important that we recognise and celebrate excellence in service transformation. Across industry, there are organisations creating new sources of growth, strengthening customer relationships and finding new ways to address some of the challenges facing manufacturers today. And let’s not forget the individuals providing the leadership and determination needed to make that transformation happen. We believe servitization has an important role to play in the future of manufacturing, and we established the Servitization Excellence Awards to showcase those leading the way and demonstrate to the wider manufacturing community what can be achieved.”
