Honorary Professor Awarded OBE

We are delighted to announce that our Honorary Professor Des Evans was awarded an OBE for services to the motor industry in the recent Queen’s Birthday Honours.

Des Evans

Des spent over 40 years in commercial vehicle sales and marketing in the UK, including more than two decades with MAN Truck & Bus UK. He led the development of MAN and its dealer network into a leading player in the market, by transforming the company into one of the country’s leading providers of advanced after sales and fleet management services for the haulage industry.

Through over 40 years of experience in the industry, Des developed a reputation as a service innovator. He helped set the standard for other companies to follow in this industry.

Des is a passionate advocate of both the transport industry and the benefits to the sustainability of UK manufacturing of services-led strategies. Now retired from MAN, Des engages with manufacturers from a variety of sectors through his role as an Honorary Professor, sharing his extensive knowledge of practical techniques and approaches to implementing services strategies in complex organisations.
