Honorary Professor Des Evans collected his OBE last week for services to the Motor Industry.
Des was the CEO of MAN Truck & Bus UK, and, together with the UK MAN Team, transformed the business model of the company, leading to it becoming one of the country’s leading providers of advanced after sales and fleet management services for the haulage industry.
On receiving his award, Des said, ‘It is not every day that you receive an OBE but I would like to share this award with the many friends and colleagues who worked with me over 40 years, especially my colleagues at MAN , the Dealer Network and many, many customers. Thank you all very much. The Truck and Transport industry is a great place to be and I will be spending some time now at Aston Business School telling everyone why.’
